What teaching method is used?
The Academy uses the “Direct Method” which is a language teaching technique which involves learning a foreign language in the target language, for example, Japanese is taught in Japanese and French is taught in French. We believe this teaching method is one of the best ways to learn a foreign language as you are fully immersed in the target language. In fact, most Japanese language schools within Japan teach using the Direct Method. The Direct Method thrives for the very reason that an environment is created where Japanese is the common language between students of various language backgrounds. At first it takes time, but as time progresses, a great difference appears through the cognition and speed of understanding Japanese. The level of dependence upon one’s native language decreases from extremely early steps.
