Unless she has an extremely complex tax situation, it shouldn’t take too long to do the taxes, especially if she does them online with TurboTax or TaxCut, or with tax preparation software. I wouldn’t worry too much about it yet. That March 1 deadline is there fore a reason, and it coincides with giving parents enough time to file their 2008 tax returns, which is what you should use if you’re completing the FAFSA this year.
