What system requirements does DaisyGIS have?
DaisyGIS require a Pentium pc with minimum of 1 Ghz CPU speed, 256 MB of RAM and 50 MB harddisk space for installation. Operating systems are required to be either Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Furthermore a full and pre-installed ArcView® GIS Version 3.2a is required. Installation of Spatial Analyst is not needed but provides additional options. It must be mentioned that the duration of Daisy simulations very much rely on CPU speed and that result files from Daisy simulations quickly can take up significant amounts of disk space. • What is the difference between Daisy and DaisyGIS ? DaisyGIS is a graphical user interface (GUI) which works as an extention (avx-file) in ArcView and Daisy is the actual model (executable-file). The DaisyGIS GUI allows you to set and change a range of Daisy parameters and ultimately generate the Daisy input files. When the Daisy input files are created through the GUI, the correct Daisy formatting are applied so that they are accepted by the “file” parser in
