What suspension systems are used on Phoenix Caravans?
Phoenix uses several types of suspensions on their Heavy Duty Caravans. It is not uncommon for clients to specify traditional beam and leaf systems. In this case we use 50mm square beam axles matched to full eye shackle heavy-duty springs fitted with dual wrap main leaves. By far the most popular option is the Al-Ko heavy duty Off-Road I.R.S. Suspension. This suspension is manufactured specifically to Phoenix directions and is an extremely robust, fully serviceable independent axle assembly that consists of only one moving part at each wheel. These Independent Suspension Systems have been proven to have incomparable reliability under extreme conditions and are able to be fully rebuilt to new conditions when and if the need arises. They are manufactured to comply specifically with the stringent quality controls stipulated by Phoenix Engineers.
