What surveys will the Pace Poll conduct?
• The Pace Poll’s first project is the benchmark component to a tracking study among residents of Lower Manhattan (south of 14th Street) on issues surrounding the downtown rebuilding effort. • The objective is to take a measure of awareness among downtown residents on key rebuilding subjects. The Pace Poll has designed this study to determine how downtown residents incorporate rebuilding issues into their civic behavior, identify resident sources of information on the subject and assess the level of citizen engagement in the rebuilding process. • The findings represent a benchmark of civic attention and engagement surrounding the rebuilding effort, which the Pace Poll intends to track with subsequent surveys every six months through the remainder of Lower Manhattan’s transformation. In this way, the Pace Poll will compile a record of how downtown residents experience and respond to the shifting landscape of their neighborhood over time.
