What supporting documents are required?
Transcripts: your application must include official transcripts from each college or university attended, sent in a sealed and signed envelope. Although we prefer to receive transcripts directly from each institution, we will accept transcripts from the candidate if they were clearly sealed and signed by the institution. Transcripts from foreign universities must be issued in the original language and be accompanied by an official English translation. Letters of recommendation: three letters are required, of which at least two should come from people who are well-acquainted with your academic work and research abilities. Beyond the three required letters, candidates may submit up to two additional letters if desired; please note that because MIT’s on-line system only allows three letters to be submitted electronically, additional letters must be hard copy signed originals accompanied by the cover form from the application.
• The required supporting documents vary from program to program. Generally, all official college transcripts, two letters of recommendation, a resume, and a statement of purpose are required. Some programs require tests and additional documents. You should visit www.applyweb.com/apply/usfg, find your specific program of interest, and then click on application instructions for details. International applicants have additional requirements.
