What successes exist in TMS production? Are there any producing wells?
For years there was only one to two low-yield producing wells in the middle of the prospect area that showed the long-term nature of production possibilities. And the TMS in the prospect area has consistently produced oil and gas shows and increased pressure when penetrated in pursuit of deeper deposits. Some wells have blown out from these pressures. Most of the failures have been due to technical problems. Two productive wells have been drilled by Encore Acquisition Company with two other wells that have been permitted, one in Amite County and the other in St. Helena Parish by Encore. Successful results will confirm the aerial extent of the play which is estimated to contain in excess of 3,700,000+ acres of possibly productive rich oil shale.
