What substances will be affected by the changeover? Will the names of all medicines change?
Many medicines are unaffected, as in many cases the BAN is the same as the rINN. For many other medicines there are only very minor changes that are unlikely to cause any confusion (for example amoxycillin and amoxicillin). For a smaller number of medicines there are much more significant changes in the name (for example bendrofluazide and bendroflumethiazide).
