What styles of archery does the Stanford Archery Program teach?
Stanford Archery teaches beginning archers how to shoot recurve (Olympic style) and compound bows. Our programs are geared only towards shooting recurve bows for a variety of reasons including safety. But because we have compound shooters as well, we do offer lessons if the student already owns a compound bow. In other words, we will provide a recurve bow, but we’ll be glad to help you if you shoot compound. In addition, all Level II certified coaches are familiar with the BEST method (developed by US Coach Kisick Lee). Our team members do not shoot BEST method, but we can provide the basics and reasoning behind it.
