What student performance results are available for TEACHER-RUN SCHOOLs?
TEACHER-RUN SCHOOLs are still fairly new, but generally out perform their traditional counterparts academically and achieve much higher “qualitative’ scores from teachers, parents, and student. In the Stanford University CREDO study of charter schools, TEACHER-RUN SCHOOLs were not segregated from the general population of charter schools. Had they been, the following would have been observed: Most TEACHER-RUN SCHOOLS have been converted in communities where parents are committed to student achievement and have supported teachers wishing to secede from failing districts. Consequently, the students at these schools consistently outperform the district peer-group.
