What stretcher size do i need?
I’d probably get a 12 or 10g. You may or may not need a taper. It’s really your preference. You can just put the next size in, or you can gradually push through. I prefer dead stretching because tapers can easily lead to tears, but I wouldn’t worry that much at anything smaller than 8g. Also, tapers aren’t jewelry. They shouldn’t be in your ears for more than a minute. I don’t care what the person above me said, or what kids in your school are wearing, they are not jewelry! A lot of kids think it’s okay but the unbalanced weight can cause uneven stretching of the fistula (the hole) and could cause tears. Also, most tapers (at spencers and hot topic) are made in acrylic. Acrylic is bad for fresh stretches. It is really easy to get an infection with acrylic. So 1) don’t wear tapers as jewelry and 2) don’t use acrylic plugs to stretch (after about 2-3 weeks, you can put the acrylic plug in). Acrylic tapers are fine if you’re using them the right way– for stretching. Not as jewelry. The m
