What streets are cleaned in winter months?
The City’s Nighttime Street Cleaning Program runs year-round, weather permitting. This program cleans main roads, arterials, and commercial roads, and schedules are posted on street signs. Nighttime means that the cleaning occurs late at night (between 12:01am and 7am, for example). One important exception is for the 2010-2011 winter season only in the North End neighborhood. The city is running a winter pilot program, sweeping streets in the mornings and afternoons through December 31, and then resuming March 1. These restrictions are written on street signs in the North End.
