What stores sell green (eco friendly) paint?
Benjamin Moore makes a zero VOC paint called Eco-Spec. ICI makes a zero VOC paint, too. VOCs are what cause paint fumes that can cause headaches and other health issues while the paint is curing. You won’t be able to get a zero VOC paint in black or dark colors. Its only available in white and light colors. I have used Eco-Spec to paint hospital rooms and nursing homes where fumes from most paints cold cause real problems. The only negative about this paint is if the temperature is above 70F it dries very fast, so fast that you need to be quick to fix brush or roller marks. I am not a fan of Ace paints or any paint from Home Depot. I can’t say anything about Lowes paints because I haven’t used them. Regular latex interior paint has very little fumes. After a week it is fully cured and there is no off-gassing.
