What steps will my organization need to follow to have an individual certified as Radiation Safety Officer under the C2NFPER?
A12. Your organization (the licensee) will need to submit an application on behalf of a prospective candidate for RSO. The application must include the following: (a) name of the person (b) record of that person’s education, training and experience (c) statement that, in the licensee’s opinion, the person is capable of performing the duties of the position (d) the Class II prescribed equipment for which the person may be certified The qualifications and experience of the RSO candidate will be reviewed by CNSC staff. If found acceptable, the candidate will be required to pass an examination in order to be certified by the CNSC.
