What steps is the CPC taking to achieve increased medal production at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Games?
The CPC is a full partner in the Own the Podium 2010 program, and has embraced the established performance target of a Top 3 finish for Canada at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games. In order to achieve this ambitious goal, Canada’s Paralympic winter sports are receiving expert advice and additional funding support in order to provide the best possible training and competitive environment in the years leading up to 2010. For example, Own the Podium 2010 is contributing funds and expert advice to assist in the hiring of additional coaches, the establishment of Performance Enhancement Teams (sport scientists), additional training and competitive opportunities and research to develop improved equipment, amongst many other projects.
