What steps does Revenu Qubec take to trace an owner or other interested party?
Our policy is to actively search for interested parties. An individual file is opened for each unclaimed asset we receive from a holder. All these files constitute the register of unclaimed property, which is available on our website. We publish notices of quality in the Gazette officielle du Qubec and in certain major daily newspapers circulating in Qubec. Notices of quality inform the public that we have become the provisional administrator of property remitted by the institutions listed. Moreover, if the value of the property is great enough to warrant such a step, we search for the interested parties.
