What steps do I need to take to return my I.V. or enteral (feeding) pump?
A. This is a great question because delayed pump return WILL result in your medication order being delayed. The only supplies you will need for pump return are a clean cardboard box, newspaper, and shipping tape. Simply line your cardboard box with wadded-up newspaper roughly half the depth of the box; place the I.V. pump in the center of the box; then fill the rest of the box with more wadded-up newspaper; finally, seal the top and bottom of the box with shipping tape. Call Brenda at CFS when you’re ready to return the I.V. pump. Brenda will then make arrangements for a return label to be sent to you via UPS. When UPS arrives, simply affix the label to the top of your well prepared box and UPS will take it from there.
