We are in the process of implementing numerous changes to the flow in the emergency department and streamlining many other tasks. We have a fast track available Sunday through Thursday. The hours of operation are Sunday through Wednesday from 12:30 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is referred to as the Acute Minor Illness Clinic. No appointment is necessary for this clinic, and patients are taken out of the emergency department and placed in the AMIC, shortening their wait time and the number of patients in the emergency department. One of the most important ways patients can help is by calling the appointment line for an appointment at 361-4000. By listening for the options, patients will be able to speak directly to a clinic nurse. Patients can also bypass the emergency department for things such as coughs, colds or seasonal allergies by taking
