Legal aid is not charity but an obligation of the state which is enshrined in Article 39 A of the Constitution.To ensure that the benefits of the legal aid programme trickle down to the grassroots level, we regularly organise seminars in villages to create awareness about their legal rights. Hoardings have also been displayed at bus stands, hospitals and other places mentioning details about free legal aid and how it can be availed.
