Michael Dale “Mike” Huckabee (born August 24, 1955) is a Republican politician and political commentator for Fox News Channel[2] and ABC Radio[3] who served as governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007.[4] Huckabee finished second in the 2008 United States Republican presidential primaries;[5] he announced his candidacy on January 28, 2007. Following losses to John McCain in the Texas, Ohio, Vermont, and Rhode Island primaries, McCain became the presumptive Republican nominee and Huckabee exited the race on March 4, 2008.[6] Huckabee is the author of several books, a non-ordained Southern Baptist minister and a public speaker. He was president of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention from 1989 to 1991. He also served as President of a television station. In 1993 Huckabee was elected to the post of Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas.
