What state in the US did women first gain the right to vote?
Wyoming, in 1869 via a law of the territorial legislature, when Wyoming was still a territory. The State was admitted to the Union with an suffrage clause in its constitution. Colorado was second territory/state to grant women universal suffrage, and the first state have a popular vote (of men) in favor of enfranchising women.
