WHAT STANDARDS WILL FAERO SET FOR THE COMPETENT PERSON SCHEME?
Standards will be defined and maintained by Faero, in consultation with both Defra and DCLG. These standards will cover the calculation of a dwelling’s SAP energy rating, and associated TER and DER. The Standards will be provided to the SAP software providers who register with Faero, and each will be responsible for ensuring that their Quality Management System incorporates them. The Standards will define all the aspects of undertaking quality assured SAP and TER/DER calculations, except for the actual SAP specification (which will remain with Defra).
