What standards are included in the series commonly referred to as the ISO 9000/1994 seriesof Quality Assurance Standards?
The ISO 9000/1994 (revised in 1994) series of quality assurance standards which will be recognized until December 2003, is comprised of five standards. Companies can be audited against three of its five standards, i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003. The other two standards, ISO 9000 and ISO 9004, serve as guidelines on a) what requirements organizations must meet and b) what quality management and quality system elements will satisfy customers needs and improve an organizations performance, respectively.
