What spurred Perkins+Will to consolidate its offices and move to a new space?
A. At the height of the market in 2007, we had outgrown our current office at 1382 Peachtree St. As a short-term solution, we had to split our office by renting additional space until we could consolidate with a long-term solution. The new space gave us the opportunity to meet our goal of consolidating our practice, as our lease term expires in 2010. This new space will improve in-house communication, provide greater flexibility for project teaming/collaboration, and provide opportunities for a richer cross-pollenization of our disciplines (architecture, interiors, planning, urban design and branded environments) and market sectors (higher education, science and technology, health care, K-12 education, commercial+corporate+civic, and aviation). Q. Why purchase a building versus lease in this economic environment? Why did you choose 1315 Peachtree? A. Owning the space will allow us to invest in the renovation of a high-performance building, while putting an existing largely vacant build
