In addition to the existing sports facilities on Heslington West, proposals for a 25 metre swimming pool, a fitness suite and a dance/martial arts studio, as well as outdoor sports facilities are being considered for Heslington East. On the eastern part of the site there is an area that has been designated for additional outdoor sports pitches.
