Almost all kinds of sports. Skiing, snowboarding, handball, volleyball, badminton, football (soccer), swimming (25 metres indoor pool), miniature shooting, wind surfing, diving, snowmobiling, etc. Sports like basketball, hockey, gymnastics, wrestling and track events are not very popular in Svalbard. Some basketball and track events are done from time to time, but not on a regular basis. In the last weekend of January 1998 the Norwegian Championship in badminton washeld in the Svalbard Sportshall.
