What specifically is assumed by church membership?
Certain things are assumed of members when they join Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. There is a commitment to the teachings of the Lutheran Church and to the mission and ministry priorities of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. This enables us to have a common or shared faith and a common or shared profession of faith among all the members. We also join hands in a common mission to make disciples for Christ by our witness to others and trying to meet the needs of a hurting humanity. Specifically, we commit to develop associations and relationships with other Christians, order our lives according to the teachings of the Bible, attend worship faithfully participating in Holy Communion, diligently utilize prayer and continuing education opportunities and other means for spiritual growth and work to set a Christian example at all times.
