In recent years, Cycle for Survival has funded a new chemotherapy regimen proven more effective at shrinking tumors in some patients with rare cancers. The 2009 event has funded new clinical trials and research studies to gain a better understanding of the biology of some types of rare cancers and to develop more precise treatments that focus on specific targets in the cancer cell.
