What species of birds are affected by imprinting?

0

Most species where parental care is given after the babies leave the nest. The smaller species which are pretty much on their own from the moment they can fly, and don’t leave the nest until they are ready (or almost ready) to fly, don’t imprint. Species where the offspring will either follow the parent around, like ducks or swans, or stay with their parents for supplementary food for some time, like hawks, owls, and condors, tend to imprint. This is not a hard-and-fast rule, but is a good rule of thumb.
