What special rules apply to Conservation Zoning Districts?
“Conservation Districts” are established to provide a means of conserving an area’s distinctive atmosphere or character by protecting or enhancing its significant architectural or cultural attributes. Conservation Districts have the “C” prefix on the zoning location maps. Development standards such as height, setbacks, and allowed uses are contained within the ordinance written specifically for the Conservation district. These ordinances are available at the Building Inspection Permit Center (room 105) in Oak Cliff or at City Hall (room 5BN). Conservation District ordinances can be found on the City of Dallas web page. Please note: The work review form for Conservation District work provides, once approved, assurance that the proposed work will be in keeping with the standards in the ordinance.
