What special courses attract students who seek admission to foreign medical colleges for postgraduation?
Students prefer courses such as Molecular Biology, Genetics, Stem Cell Research, Neonatology, Cardio thoracic surgery. In foreign countries, fellowship programmes such as FRCS, MRCP and training programmes are conducted. These programmes are certified by the local professional bodies. In India too, we are slowly starting courses like the Diplomate of National Board. Corporate hospitals and some government sector hospitals offer training to students. Any private hospital with good infrastructure can apply to the National Board of Examinations that will inspect and give recognition to the hospital to conduct the training programme.
