What special challenges are there in running a blood bank in the Inland Empire?

A. The Blood Bank of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties was founded in 1951 as a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization to provide a safe and ample blood supply to the growing communities of San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Although we face the same challenges as most businesses in the Inland Empire – such as residents commuting out of the area and the impact that has on receiving enough donations to meet the needs of our community – our biggest challenge is communicating the need for blood. Few people actually think about giving blood.
