What sorts of things could Greens do in the Poconos?
Good question. Here are some possible answers… (If you see one of these displayed in bold type, we’re working on it already; if you see a link, there’s more information about that activity available.) • Publish a “Green Directory” of environmental and social justice resources in the Poconos • Become involved in annual Earth Day activities around the area, as well as other educational programs • Sponsor programs and discussions about Green-related issues • Improve recycling programs • Spread information about alternatives to consumerism, urban sprawl, and uncontrolled development • Sponsor scholarships • Raise funds to buy Green literature for donation to local libraries • Hook up and network with existing organizations, and assist them with their projects • Get involved, make a difference, and have fun… And there are undoubtedly more possibilities.
