What sort of wound can be treated?
The ReCell suspension can be used to treat wounds and other skin defects to enhance wound healing. It can also be used to minimise scaring and reintroduce skin colour (pigment). Some surgeons use ReCell to treat acute wounds such as burns, scars or during an operation such as cosmetic surgery to enhance healing and reduce the formation of scars and blotchy skin. Indications include: • Treatment of partial thickness skin defects, including burns and scalds. • Scar reconstruction and other skin defects. • Treatment of epidermal defects such as hypo-pigmentation (discolouration of the skin) • Treatment to prevent possible side effects of cosmetic laser surgery. • Treatment of the donor site.
