What sort of pay does a psychologist get?
Each of the fields can have a varying pay scale. Like others have said, if you go into private practice you can make a lot more money than if you do non-profit or public work. The range for each of the fields could be anywhere between $40,000 and $55,000 for a starting salary and there really is no ceiling. Each of the fields also has its own pros and cons. Child Psychology – You feel like you can really see the impact of your work by working with a client who is still young and maliable. When you’re advocating on a child’s behalf you know you are always working on the “good side” because children are the innocents of our society. You also have to hear some HORRENDOUS stories about how they may have been treated or what they have experienced. Personally, I would worry about getting too attached to clients.
