Depending on the unit selected and the conditions it is being used under, pre-filters can either be vacuumed occasionally or changed every four months (IQAir pre-filters need to be replaced every 6 to 18 months). HEPA filters are usually changed every 2 to 5 years. Activated carbon is usually replaced every 2 to 5 years (1 to 3 years for the IQAir models), depending on the concentration of contaminants in the air. If applicable, UV lamps should be changed every year.
