What sort of jobs will medical companies offer?
Moving to bioengineering itself, there are a number of medical equipment and device companies in the UK, and others in Europe. In general the large medical companies do not have large research divisions in the UK but will have sales and distribution operations. These will have opportunities in sales, technical support and service, marketing and other activities. If you like meeting people, and seeing technology in use in hospitals, then these can be very satisfying jobs with plenty of prospects for promotion. If you like design and development, then there are a few big employers in the UK in bio-engineering, but there are lots of small companies (that may one day become big) that have vacancies from time to time.
