What sort of jobs are there with animals that are not veterinary positions?
There are tons of jobs to pursue if you are interested in animals but first you have to identify what areas you are interested in. At this point I would start researching your interests. I am in veterinary school and I still don’t know what I want to do so don’t rush it. If you are interested in small animals (predominately dogs and cats) i would start by volunteering at a local vet office as an animal assistant/technician (I think eventually you will get past fainting at the sight of blood – it becomes old quickly). You could volunteer at a local shelter and get an idea about how you can help helpless and homeless animals. Or you can find a program that trains animals to go to nursing homes, psychiatric facilities and prisons and see how you can volunteer there. I’m assuming that since you are talking about A-levels that you are in England so, since I’m in the US I’m not sure of the opportunities where you live.
