What sort of interaction will there be between students and Tent City residents?
Two working groups are now making plans for the interaction among the university, the neighbor community, and Tent City: an educational working group and a service working group. The educational working group will be developing avenues for learning about homelessness. The service working group is covering all areas relating to how the SU community and its neighbors might voluntarily be of service to Tent City. Ideas being developed include: onsite health and legal clinics, donations of food, clothing and other items on the Tent City wish list, and facilitating brief tours of Tent City.
