WHAT SORT OF INSTRUMENT DOES HSD USE FOR TRANSPLANT MICROSURGERY?
The self-transplant microsurgery that HSD performs in its treatment centres differs from other surgical techniques precisely in the type of instrument used. HSD uses an instrument called Trilix, instead of scalpels (which are obsolete) and lasers (which damage the bulbs and leave visible scars in the donor areas). The Trilix that HSD uses for its aesthetic micro-surgery was invented and named by Dr. Carlo Alberto Pallaoro. It is a high speed microsurgical drill that removes tiny patches of scalp tissue. The Trilix is used in other aesthetic surgery procedures too, including the treatment of stretch-lines and scars, and in face-lifts as well as hair self-transplants. The Trilix has a thin hollow tip that rotates at high speed (40,000 rpm) and removes skin patches of only half a millimetre in diameter.
