What sort of haul truck traffic will the quarry generate?
Brannan will use the quarry principally to guarantee that it has a sufficient supply of crushed rock for its asphalt and concrete operations in the Front Range. Under normal operations, Brannan will haul the quarry rock to the Front Range for direct use during the summer and fall months and for storage in stockpiles during the winter and spring months. Semi-tractor trailer trucks will be the typical form of truck traffic from the quarry because they are the most efficient way to haul the crushed rock. Brannan has committed to limiting the haul truck fleet to 30 trucks with no more than 176 departures from the quarry per day. This represents less than 2.5% of the existing traffic levels on Highways 6 and 119.
