As the discussion paper itself notes, exploring a governance model is difficult to do without adopting a specific service delivery model. AFDOs primary concern with any governance model is to ensure that people with disability are given meaningful input into the governance of the service and are involved in setting strategic directions. Regardless of whether a Board and/or Council and/or Steering Committee are utilised, diverse community representation will be critical.
