What sort of food do they serve in a Jewish restaurant?
It depends on where you live and what cuisines are available to you. A few things to be aware of: Kosher and Glatt Kosher Jewish restaurants will not mix meat with milk. Separate utensils, dishes will be used to prepare the items. Usually the restaurant is either Dairy (serving milk products and fish products as well as grain products-like pasta- or vegetables) or Meat (serving meat products as well as grain products or vegetables). Meat restaurants will use also use a separate area and utensils for preparing fish products, as the two are not supposed to be prepared or eaten together (this is according to strict kashrut, aka kosher, laws). As well, the meat is ritually slaughtered, soaked and salted. Certain meats and seafoods are not used, because they are not allowed (such as pork, shellfish, octopus, catfish).
