Most of the interactive services that are currently successful on the Internet can be envisaged in a WAP world too.For example, information services such as news or stock quotes, on-phone shopping, interactive entertainment, and corporate advertising.WAP could also be used to build internal corporate applications: such as company telephone directories, or access to stock data for travelling salespeople.Of course, there are also many new opportunities that mobile device access brings. These might include location-based services or sophisticated telephony applications.For example, if a user was on holiday, a directory service could locate a suitable restaurant in the relevant town, and then automatically dial ahead to book.
