What sort of affect do antidepressants have when a mother is breastfeeding?
My sister wants to adopt a baby and induce breastfeeding to nurse it, but she is on antidepressants. They are amitriptyline and fluoxetine. She is embarassed about talking about inducing breastfeeding with her doctor, so she had me look it up on the internet. I see that the medications do affect the baby, but I would like to know about what sort of affects there are, since it really isn’t listed in many places. Thanks.
