What solar initiatives will a school receive?
An eligible school can opt not to introduce further solar in excess of the State program, however the school then will only receive a maximum of $30,000 (or $60,000 for a multi-campus school of greater of 1000 students). Schools will receive approximately 3,650 kW per annum of energy generation from a 2 kW solar system, and eligible schools can also opt to include more solar as part of the NSSP. If schools want to opt for additional solar they can alert the Solar and Energy Efficiency Program via the lighting review. The Solar and Energy Efficiency Program team is working with the Australian Government regarding the management and specific requirements for the delivery and installation of the additional solar panels.
