What software is included with the Trifid Camera?
The camera software, the OS drivers and an application program—the Trifid Control Panel—are included with each camera. The camera software and the OS drivers are supplied as binaries. The application program is supplied as a binary executable and as Visual Basic for Applications source code. When power is connected to Trifid Camera and a USB cable is connected between it and a computer, they perform a two step identification process. First the camera—which has no software stored internally—identifies itself as a “Yankee Robotics Trifid Camera before Renumeration.” Renumeration is the name for the process by which the camera acquires its software and the computer loads the appropriate drivers. When the computer sees Trifid take this first identity, it uploads the code the camera will run. Once the transfer is complete, Trifid internally disconnects from the USB bus for one second. When it reconnects, it identifies itself as a Yankee Robotics Trifid Camera with a particular imaging chip
