The museum is currently in the process of evaluating and formulating the database structure for the final database structure. Presently the museum has installed the Archivist Toolkit on a MySQL database and will be using this open-source software to create metadata for all digital content. After content has been created, our current thinking is to migrate the EAD and METS records to an eXist/ SQL server to enable a searchable database. The goal of the migration is to enable searching and querying of the collection and item level records.
