What software do I need to access subjects on LearnJCU?

• At a bare minimum, you require a web browser (version 4 or better). For example, you can use LearnJCU with Internet Explorer 5.0 or later, Nescape or Mozilla. • If a lecturer has included PDF documents in their subject site, you will need to install Acrobat Reader to view them. • If a lecturer has included Microsoft Office documents such as Word or Powerpoint files, you will need your own copy of Microsoft Office (preferably equivalent to lecturer’s version) or alternatively the relevant Microsoft Office Viewer which is freely available. • You would also benefit from an email client such as Outlook Express (comes with MS Office) or Eudora, or you could use web based email such as Mirapoint mail or Hotmail (both free and can be accessed in GATCF labs). • For a comprehensive list of useful software and plugins see the Software and Viewers section of the LearnJCU Toolbox.
