What skills are reported on the PSAT/NMSQT student score report?
The “Improve Your Skills” section of the PSAT/NMSQT score report gives students a personalized analysis of their areas of weakness as well as specific suggestions for how to improve. This information comes from analyzing individual performance across test questions. The score report shows those skills that have the best chance of improvement with additional work. For students who are weak in more than three verbal skills, for example, the three in which they are probably closest to being able to improve are reported. The educational importance of the skills, as determined with the advice of panels of expert educators, also plays a role in the selection.
